Breakaway Michigan
Are we too old for an EDM festival?
Not yet!
- Friday: Decided about 4:30 PM I had worked enough for the week (was at 42 hours, so, we good), so I logged off of my PC and then got into the shower so that I could get ready for Breakaway Michigan. You can check the link for all of the artists, but we were there to see Gryffin and ZEDD, though I admit that Disco Lines was really fucking good; I’ll be checking out more of this music. One thing we noticed is that festival is getting bigger and bigger every year, so we decided because we’re old, and Shalee was nursing a twisted ankle, that going down into the masses to dance was not in the cards for us, but we still had a fantastic time!

- Saturday: Woke up, stopped by Bostwick Bakery for a huge doughnut, then met my friend Todd, as well as my pickleball group, at the Bella Vista pickleball courts, for two hours of, well, pickleball. After a shower, lunch, and some down time, we headed back out to Breakaway (where we ran into our friend Hankis!) to see one of my favorite EDM artists, REZZ perform. She was amazing, OF COURSE!, and then after all of that deep, deep bass, we capped the night off with a trip to Denny’s for some sustenance!

- Sunday: Got up and went to the grocery store to get supplies for the potluck at my mom’s house that she was holding as the one-year memorial of Grandma Lois passing (we brought cheesecake). Ate rich food, spent time with family, learning all there is to know about NASCAR diecast cars and Superfly, a TMNT villain, from my great nephews, before cleaning up the mess for mom before heading home to chill the rest of the night. Read a bit of Madwoman of the Sacred Heart vol. 3 before bed.
Two nights at Breakaway Michigan tuckered me out, but overall, another lovely weekend.
