The Weekend! (08-Sep-25) - Our Geek This Week

September

A little late with this one!

Most times it feels like the weekend goes by far too quickly.

Friday: After a short work week (but somehow more work than the previous week), it was time for two of my favorite things: poker with the Grohs, and Bandcamp Friday! Lost $10 playing poker, but as I have said before, losing a few bucks whilst spending four or more hours with friends talking shit and having a few libations is not a terrible way to spend a Friday night. I got home late, but took some time to go through my Bandcamp wishlist before making some purchases, which I will most likely post about later.
Saturday: Shalee woke up with a bad cold and apologized for the fact that she would not be able to go to the MSU/Boston College game that night. I assured her that it was no problem at all and that she should get some rest while I texted family and friends to see if they could go to an evening football game at the last minute. My Uncle Tom said he couldn’t go, all my other friends were busy as well, but then Tom texted back and said that YES, he could go, so off we went to the game, a tailgate (thanks, Mike!), and watched what was most likely the best game we’ll see this year from MSU!
Sunday: Slept in, planned dinners for the week, made caprese salad eggs (scrambled eggs, garlic, fresh basil, tomato, and fresh mozzarella pearls with balsamic vinegar), then off to the grocery store to spend way too much fucking money (Thanks, Trump!). Got home right before the Lions game started, so we munched on Meijer fried chicken before watching the Lions sadly be the Lions again. I’m not posting a link to YouTube highlights because, IMHO, there were none for us Lions fans.

Overall, another great and busy weekend; MSU won, the Lions lost, but again, on the balance, much more good than bad!
