Five links that I found interesting for one reason or another
High Five!
- Everything I Know About Self Publishing - This is a very good article that I am posting here as a way for me to remember that I read it and come back to it if/when there comes a need to publish something myself. I’m a writer, I have to write things down, I mean waves arms around, but the problem is that I don’t currently get paid to write. Maybe one day I’ll have to forge my own path.
- Developer Unlocks Newly Enshittified Echelon Exercise Bikes But Can’t Legally Release His Software - Enshittification rears its ugly head again. If I buy something, I own it, and software should not reduce the functionality of something I have purchased. IMHO, fuck Echelon.
- Analog to Digital Process - I am…intrigued. I love writing on a typewriter. Hell, even when I type up the copy for my various blogs I often use “Courier New” or some other font that looks like I’m typing on a piece of paper, but to actually type out a blog entry before creating a digital copy? Like I said, I am intrigued, but also, isn’t that kind of crazy? I respect the effort, regardless.
- Just Like Stuff - This is a mantra that I really should commit to myself because though I do not consider myself a troll (then again, what troll does?), I do sometimes like to stick it to people online that I find to be intelligently inferior but also confident in their naivete (I think we know what kind of red-hatted people I am talking about), but when I reflect upon my actions I often think if I should just leave well enough alone. But then again, silence in the face of oppression is acquiescence, so, as you can see, I’m torn.
- What Happened to Cameron Crowe? He Has Answers. - I admit that I had kind of forgotten about Cameron Crowe despite some of this films being all-time favorites of mine, but yeah, he just seemed to have kind of disappeared for a while, or rather, that’s what I perceived. Clearly that’s not the case.
High Five is a regular feature of this blog with an irregular schedule; just five links to things I found to be interesting.
