Five links that I found interesting for one reason or another

- 301 Permanently Moved - Landing Sequence - I’ve listened to this podcast for a few years now, but it’s coming to an end after eight years. This penultimate episode has some fantastic insights into podcasting, which I plan to apply to blogging as well. “All long-term artistic endeavours also need a container” is a simple but very important quote. It may not be immediately obvious, but all great art must have constraints. I’ll miss this podcast, but even here at its end I am learning from it.
- Hulk Hogan - I found this to be a very insightful and interesting read about the legacy of Hulk Hogan as to how much of that was luck versus skill. I admit, I was biased towards it as I very much dislike Hogan as a human being.
- Audiences Prove that Experts Are Dead Wrong - Data proves that audiences prefer long form over short form, whether it’s books, magazine articles, music, or film. Is this indicative of a digital backlash?
- Curate Your Own Newspaper with RSS - I’ve been using Feedly for years now to do exactly what this author suggests, but again, like the author, I think more people should consider RSS readers. Because of this article I switched over to Inoreader and I am already loving the additional functionality that its free version offers. I’ve subbed to my own custom Reddit feeds, making this app a one-stop shop for informational needs.
- Architect’s TOP 10 Desk Setup Mistakes (& How to Fix Them) - I thought that this was an insightful video that spoke to me as someone who predominantly works from home but also struggles with being a maximalist. Serendipitous, as I just cleaned my desk because it was too cluttered. There’s more that I can do.
Thanks for reading!
High Five is a regular feature of this blog with an irregular schedule; just five links to things I found to be interesting.
